PM Nikola Gruevski has declined to reveal his expectations about the outcome of the European Council and the possibility ofMacedonia getting a date to begin accession negotiations. He stressed that he has been careful when it comes to such statements for six months in order to prevent those who do not want to see Macedonia being successful to abuse them or take them out of context. “We’ll see what the exact decision made in Brussels next week will be. We are carefully following the situation,” he said. Regarding the merit pay issue, Gruevski stressed it was a key reform in the health system whose implementation will continue.
