Macedonia-Germany Trade Exchange Reaches All-Time High

The trade exchange between Macedonia and Germany reached 1.476 million euros in 2012.

According to data provided by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, Macedonia imported 963.71 million euro worth of goods and services from Germany and exported goods and services of 512.30 million euros. Representatives of the German Chamber of Commerce in Macedonia say that 2012 saw the biggest export of goods and services from Macedonia to German so far. Germany was Macedonia’s biggest trade partner in 2012. “The largest portion of exported goods falls on precious-metal bearing catalysts or their compounds, iron and steel products and clothes. Over the past year there were important investments in Macedonia in the field of the automotive industry and the income of that production will be seen in 2013,” said Chair of the Chamber Michael Schmidt. He expects this year’s forecasts for the development of the German economy to have positive impact on the trade exchange between Macedonia and Germany.
