Constitutional change should not be merely anticipated but it needs to be applied in practice prior to the ratification of the agreement, Giorgos Koumoutsakos, responsible for foreign policy in Greek opposition New Democracy party says.“Non-volatile requirement and basic guarantee for final solution to the name issue of Skopje is change of their Constitution,” Koumoutsakos declared. Government Spokesperson Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said significant breakthrough has been made in the talks, but the parties are not close to agreement. He assessed the meeting of the two PMs as rather significant. “In terms of specific details, regarding conditions of creating an international agreement that might be reached, which is unlikely to happen as early as tomorrow, it is evident there will be consecutive commitments i.e. rights and obligations that will be expanded in the future,” said Tzanakopoulos, adding solution could not be reached with push of a single button.
