Instead of talking of problems we should offer creative solutions, Macedonia’s president Gjorge Ivanov said Saturday at the Global Leadership Forum organized by Istanbul’s Bahcesehir University. There is a need of new global ethics and open debate of multilateral institutions, which should adjust to challenges of the third millennium, Ivanov said. He also addressed the problems related to manipulating the public opinion, saying that the lack of respecting promises would erase the trust in the system, the President’s Office said in a press release. “It will be sufficed to refer to the state of international law. The Republic of Macedonia has been waiting for seven years for the international community to respect the Hague-based International Court of Justice’s 2011 rule on Greece’s blockade to the country’s NATO accession. One of the rare NATO members to respect the ICJ rule is Turkey, which also uses the country’s constitutional name for which we are very grateful,” Ivanov said.
