Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias said Wednesday in Belgrade that a step forward has been made in the name dispute and its settlement requires compromise. “Realism and pragmatism is the key to solution. Compromise is needed, but not a rotten one. Both sides need to understand that they cannot get everything,” said FM Kotzias after meeting Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic. On his part, Dacic said direct talks and seeking mutual interests is the best way to remove problems that involve the region's history and tradition. He added that Serbia fully understands Greece's position and reiterated that Macedonia's recognition under its constitutional name was an "inconsiderate move" by Belgrade. According to him, Macedonia's actions towards Serbia have not been adequate, highlighting the recognition of Kosovo's independence. Greek FM Kotzias arrived in Ohrid later in the day, where he had a working dinner with Macedonian FM Nikola Dimitrov.
