Slovenian PS Brglez pays Visit to Skopje

On Tuesday, Slovenian PS Milan Brglez paid a visit to Skopje, where he met with counterpart Talat Xhaferi. According to Brglez, when it comes to small countries like Macedonia and Slovenia, it’s important for them to be united and for them to achieve together the goals before the international community. “The bilateral cooperation si good, but it needs to be expanded, especially in the field of parliamentary diplomacy,” Xhaferi said. He thanked Brglez for Slovenia’s support on Macedonia’s road to EU and NATO membership, but pointed also to the need for coordinated activities regarding the migration crisis. Within the frameworks of his visit, Berglez also delivered an address before Macedonia’s MPs. In addition, The Slovenian PS met with PM Zoran Zaev. “Slovenia remains a strong supporter of Macedonia’s development,” he noted. According to Zaev, Macedonia’s government and institutions, in cooperation with the civil society sector and with Macedonia’s friends from the EU and NATO, are working in a committed manner on the citizens having a quality life and together with that, through the good-neighbourly and regional cooperation, on achieving the strategic Euro-Atlantic goals. Brglez’s visit to Skopje also included a meeting with President Gjorge Ivanov. They talked about the bilateral relations between the two country. Ivanov thanked Brglez for the Slovenian support for Macedonia’s road to EU and NATO membership. “I hope it will continue in the coming period,” Ivanov stated. Moreover, Brglez met with the Deputy PM for European Affairs, Bujar Osmani, too, with whom they talked about the bilateral cooperation between Skopje and Ljubljana.
