Heated parliamentary Debate on proposal to Dismiss Zvrlevski

During Wednesday’s parliamentary debate, VMRO-DPMNE once again said dismissing Public Prosecutor Marko Zvrlevski in a period of scheduled elections was in contradiction with the Electoral Code. On the other hand, PS Talat Xhaferi cited Article 16 of the Law on Prevention of Corruption and said there were no dilemmas that the discussion could resume. After Xhaferi had not given a procedural right to speak to VMRO-DPMNE MP Antonio Milososki and called the parliamentary security to remove him from the booth, the opposition stood in his defence. In order for the situation to be calmed, Xhaferi gave a short break and afterwards asked the MPs to respect Parliament’s order. “The MPs usurped the booth and thus obstruct the work,” Xhaferi stressed. According to Milososki, he is entitled to the procedural right in line with the Rules of Procedure. The debate will continue on Friday.
