On Wednesday, the Dutch Ambassador to Macedonia, Wouter Plomp, reiterated the stance presented by the EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, that Macedonia has no time to waste when it comes to the formation of the new government. According to him, that is now in the hands of all political parties. “It depends on them,” Plomp pointed out. The Ambassador considers that the new government should be a reform one and that it should focus on responsibility and accountability. He added the Netherlands hoped that Macedonia would have a government fully focused on the reforms. “When we talk about accountability, that means support for the work of the Special Prosecutor’s Office, as well as support from all actors, such as the courts, so that the Office can do its job independently,” Plomp underlined.
